Terence J. Conklin
FounderMr. Conklin founded Appledore in 2002 to provide financial consulting and M&A advisory services to family offices and privately held businesses. From 1988 through 2002 he was President of Trust Investments Inc., a private investment company and family office with oversight of a portfolio in excess of $700 million.
Before Trust Investments, he was a Senior Manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. where, in addition to providing audit and accounting services to both private and public companies, he also led the Boston office's real estate syndication practice and advised on M&A.
In 2005, he established Velocity Brands, Inc., which (under an exclusive territory development agreement with Dunkin' Brands) developed, acquired, and operated 26 Dunkin' Donuts stores in the Tampa market. He successfully sold the portfolio in 2012.
He sits on several boards, including Piranha Brands, Inc. and When Pigs Fly, Inc., and serves as the owner-representative overseeing the management of the Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford, Maine. His seat on the advisory board of Fowler Precision, Inc. led to the successful sale of that company to a private equity firm in 2023.
He lives in Rye Beach, New Hampshire and Scottsdale, Arizona, is a graduate of Lehigh University, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.
